| Do tuition reimbursement companies check how much you get for financial aid?
I am receiving financial aid which is supposed to help me pay tuition, fees, books, supplies, transportation and living expenses. The company I work for offers 100% tuition reimbursement but only covers what the financial aid doesn't cover, which means I would be left with nothing and they wouldn't pay me at all. Is there a way for them to find out how much I got from financial aid? Would they have access to that kind of information? Thanks for your help!!!

They would only have access to this information if you gave them permission to get it from the school or if they required you to turn it in when you applied for the assistance (the most likely situation). You need to be aware that the "estimated cost of attendance" at most schools is VERY high ... a lot more than just your tuition and books... because of the transportation and living expenses calculated in. Look up the schools amount and see if you have received grants and loans in excess or equal to this amount. You might want to ask your company if they consider "loans" financial aid.... if they do... DON'T TAKE OUT A LOAN (you don't have to accept it if they offer it to you) ... have your employer pick up this amount. Viola, problem solved.
