| Is my financial aid appeal letter acceptable? If not, could someone offer me advice?
This is what I have so far. I am open to any suggestions or corrections that need to be made to make my appeal successful, thank you!
To whom it may concern:
I am writing this in the hope that you will reconsider your decision to reject my financial aid. I have received notice that I am still enrolled as a student for the upcoming 2008-2009 academic year but I have been placed on academic probation for not meeting the required GPA of a 2.0. I would still like to continue my education at Regis University, but can not do so without the assistance of financial aid.
I found the spring semester to be difficult and very stressful. I did not manage my time or priorities well, spent a substantial amount of time socializing, and as a result, I earned a grade point average of an 1.8. My goal for the upcoming academic year is to better manage my time, get work done timely and accurately, and to seek help from my advisor and professors when needed.
Education is extremely important to me and I am a student who is very serious about my future. Regardless of my previous poor work ethic, I am a mature person and if given a chance, I will display that what I had done in the past academically was not only a mistake, but a mistake that will never be made again.
