| Is there any way I can pay for college when I don't qualify for financial aid?
2.9 GPA in hs. I was smart yet stupidly did not apply myself. I am receiving my AA at the end of this year, and I am proud to say I have maintained a 3.9 so far and want to continue at a uni. I come from a middle class family and do not qualify for ANY financial aid. My parents are in debt and cannot afford to contribute. I have no credit and co-signer to apply for loans. I have applied to some scholarships but the fact is I'll never get enough to pay for my tuition at a four-year university. I cannot declare independence from my parents as I am barely nineteen.
My question is, is there any way around this strict system? Any hope to get full-scholarship somewhere based fully on my college GPA and test scores? I feel like everyone makes good grades, why would I stand out? Do college financial aid offices consider unusual situations like this? Any specific schools that handle finance differently? Will the fact that I am a transfer student make things complicated? Thank you.
