| Question concerning financial aid and the FAFSA?
Please give to answers. The smart (best) way and the moral way
I currently reside with my father and have for 5 months. Previous to that, I lived with my mother. The income of my mother is less than $20k/yr while my father earns over $60k.
According to the FAFSA, the person with whom I have resided for the past 12 months with the most is the one whom I should have fill out my FASFA regardless of who has custody. Obviously, if my mother fills it out, then I would be going to my school of choice free. Since it does not ask the address of both my mother and I, will it figure out that we do actually live at different addresses.
What do you think is the best thing to do and is what we plan to do likely to workout?
I plan to have her fill it out and leave my father out of the picture
I want to know if I can just put down my mother even though by then I will have lived with my father more.
I DO NOT want to list him, only my mom.
Technically last year, my mom claimed me as her dependent.
