When it might be dangerous to give first aid?

A situation that's dangerous or a person who's dangerous?

A situation might be someone who's been run over on the freeway. Would you want to put yourself in danger trying to tend to them with traffic still moving?

A person who's dangerous: If a person is hemorrhaging and you are not sure of their HIV/hepatitis status. If you end up drenched in blood, you could end up getting HIV or hepatitis. If you take universal precautions and use protectors, you are better protected, but nothing is 100%.

If you are putting your self in harms way - not of illness....For instance, if a person is amongst live electrical wires or the gunman is still there etc....two patients does no one no good.

When you're just 'guessing' how to do it.... it may do more harm than good.
