can't get first aid tape off!?

my baby had to have stitches yesterday, she fell while jumping and hit her chin on the coffee table and now i can't get the tape off. i've tried water and rubbing some oil on it but it won't budge! i don't want to leave it on there because now it's wet. any ideals????????? help!!!
