| One pair of shoes, two best friends, and a popularity problem. Help!?
I went shopping over the weekend. I bought new clothes, and Nike shoes.
I went to school today all excited about my new clothes and shoes when I realize that the shoes I got are the same as ones my best friend had (and still occasionally wears).
We were walking to gym and she turned around and said "Wow. That shirt's a bit too low, don't you think?" My shirt was no lower than hers.
The remark hurt my feelings, and I don't want to be considered a biter (aka copy-cat) because I got the same shoes. Also, I think my best friend is being really immature and cruel about this, but I don't want to ruin our friendship.
She's one of the most popular people in my school, and I don't want everyone turned against me.
What should I do? I don't want to ruin our friendship OR my new-found popularity, but I don't want to be afraid to wear new clothes or new shoes because it might annoy her because she's not the center of attention for TEN seconds.
Advice, please. NO SPAM.
