How do i go about making new friends?

the friends that i've had in the past always approached me and made friends with me? now that i'm in college i have no clue on how 2 make new friends.. I need someones help. I do talk to classmates but it never goes on into a friendship?? help

Some things can't be forced. It was easier for you because they initiated the contact, and it must have been the way you attracted their interest in you. Now the shoe is on another foot, and your learning curve is non-existent in how all this happened. I would say trial and error and show interest in them, so they can learn a little about you in the process. You are right talking has to be more than just small-talk ,and initiated as to comment said or in the class about related topics. Friendship is common interest and people liking you for whomever you are. Try the casual approach, and keep working on the contact with them or any person you want to get to know.
