My friend stopped being a vegetarian?

She was a vegetarian for animal-rights reasons. I'm surprised, what should I think? Does she not care about animal welfare anymore? She keeps going back and forth and yet she says that one day she will go vegan? Am I to believe this?
She ate fish before too. One day I just saw her chowing on chicken and I was shocked! I think I'll be a vegetarian forever but obviously not everyone feels the same way? I felt awkard talking about it with her.
