put your hand on his penis, no im kidding, just try to spark the conversation and try to be more enthusiastic. if hes not a close friend and a casual acquaintance then who cares, hes just a person you talk to randomly

you need to find yourself becoming friends with this person first.. Because if you just start wanting a relationship right away it could mess things up in the later run if you find out that u just like him as a friend. Also you need to learn about him so u can be comfortable and be yourself around him.. thats what a lot of awkwardness is caused by is you not thinking you can be yourself around him..just be yourself and have fun.. and that will make the awkwardness goes away.. and if turns out he doesnt like the real you the screw him you can find others that will!

Dont let it become awkward, act as if everything he does is just normal, or everything he says. Its only awkward because you let it be, talk to him as if you were speaking to a person with a disability, do not think you are better than him, I dont know, its kinda hard to explain.

Invite him for a group outing with your friends and his friends... get to know him during the outing, it may be less awkward when there is other people around..
