I would support your friend absolutely!! She is going to have such a blessing in a child with Down's Syndrome. I teach special education and believe me...they are the sweetest, most loving children/adults on earth. With great support and the right education, a child with Down's can be a great assest to the community. She will have some hard times as a parent of a Down's kid but she can find support from other parents with children who have Downs. I don't think she should take a babies life b/c it has a genetic disorder. Put your arms around your friend and tell her that not only do you support her during the pregnancy, but that you will be a great support for her as she raises this special gift from God!

if my friend found out she was pregnant with a BABY with down's syndrome (personal opinion i hate the word fetus...how degrading to a human) I would be very supportive..babies are never mistakes...god doesn't make mistakes. we are not Nazi's by the way. you should respect every human regardless of if they have a mental disability. just because something isn't perfect in medical eyes, doesnt give us a right to murder it! How could you not be supportive of someone that wants to keep her child. thats the bravest thing a woman can do in her life. Down's syndrome childeren are some of the sweetest childeren i've ever met...its not their fault...don't punish them by not treating them like normal people...
