Who come first in a relationship??.. Friends or your significant other?

My boyfriend and i got into a little tiff last night. I have a question for everyone.. Who come first in your relationship? Friend or the significant other?

We have been together quite some time and know we are going to spend the rest of our lives with eachother. We both have our fair share of friends. But how do you know where to place each other?

My stance is he would come before my friends, because he is suppose to be my Best friend. I still hang out with my friends but should put him before everything else because he is the most important thing i have and should hold onto him. I care deeply about my friends and are there for them all the time but choose to make him my number one.

I'm just a little confused, What is everyone elses stance?

I think it really depends on the situation. Like if your boyfriend is having a hard time at work or someting you should be there for him as much as possible, even if your friends wanted to catch up, you would stay with him.
But then, if your friend was having a bad situation with someting and really needed advice, you would spend a bit of time with her, if everything is okay with your bf.

Please please please do not choose your significant other over friends. I have been friends with this girl for thirteen years (no longer friends because of this) and every time she had a boyfriend, I didn't exist or she'd turn against me. But when she was single, she was calling me all the time wanting to hang out and be really nice to me. I couldn't stand her inconsistency anymore so I ended our friendship.
