I gave my friend a gift...?

OK, so i have this guy friend, we're both thirteen, he moved to Oregon last summer, but we still email about twice a week to each other. One of my other friends, who is a girl also my age, went down to Oregon with her family and planned to go visit him. I had a going-away present for the guy friend, but my family went on vacation and by the time I got back he was gone. So now, I gave it to my friend who is a girl, and she took it down to him and gave it to him. It's a miniature of the Bocca de la Verta in Rome, about the size of my palm. She says she gave it to him, and I believe her, but he hasn't said thank you or emailed me anything about having gotten it.
I asked my girl-friend what he said, but she just said, "Oh, he just said, "OK."" and now I'm confused
