my friend is seriously depressed and i dont know how to comfort her!!?

my friend melissa is only 12 and she misses her best friend cait that her parents wont allow her to talk to anymore because cait moved to a different school and melissa was kind of distracted from work because she was always calling her and doing after school stuff instead of homework, so now she cuts and she never talks and i dont blame her i would hate to not be allowed to talk to my best friend ever again... she crys everyday and i dont know what to say to her so i usually just hug her but i really dont know how to comfort her...

All you can do is be there for her, I am sure it really hurts that she cannot talk to her best friend, but if you show her that you are there for her, not only will she be ok but you guys will probably end up becoming a lot closer too!
