How do I help a depressed friend?

So my friend use to be the happiest girl I know. She always smiled and was so fun to be around. But recently she came to school with a black eye and bruises all over her body. She didn't look at people when they spoke to her and she barely responded. I knew she was going through verbal abuse from some of the kids at school and her father, but she seemed to be happy. Now she's kinda just dead. One of the kids who use to make fun of her came to apolgize and she pushed him on the ground and injured him, she has never ever been violent before. Everytime I ask her whats wrong she just looks away or walks away.

How coud I help her?
