Is it wrong to want to be friends with my fiancee, daughters mother?

Me and my fiancee have been together only a few months. We are planning on moving pretty far from where we are at now and I am feel bad. His daughters mother is having a hard time accepting this and I want to make her understand and be her friend, but I know she still loves him... Is this wrong trying to be friends with her? Also she always text messages asking me to talk to him for her, since he hates talking to her on the phone. and he doesnt understand why i feel so bad for?? She is a good person, but is this wrong of me??
