Why does he still want to be friends?..and why doesnt he ever mention his girlfriend?

me and this guy really liked each other....but recently he seemed distant on the phone so i asked him if he had lost interest in me..and he said kind of..i asked him why...and he said it was because he has a girlfriend!..which he never mentioned of before!!....he also..still wants to be friends!!..why??....and every time i ask him anything about his girlfriend he seems to avoid the question!..i really dont know why?...not only that but everytime i see him i can see him staring at me and just by the things he says to me it also seems like he still likes me!!...could he just be confused???

of course he is confused. but you should back off and give his girlfriend some respect. maybe things will work out later on. trust me im in the same situation right now.
