Girls, why is it that girls I find myself attracted to, always want me as

their close or best friends? First of all, I wont lie. I get shy around pretty girls. But, that doesn't stop me from talking to them. But, I always end up filling the close/best friend role. And, I find that more often than not, I am the only guy in that role. I understand that it's hard to trust a guy, especially when the stereotype is that they only have one motive. I, on the other hand understand. Which is why, I try to be as comforting as I can, and sensitive. And, I listen. I'm never pushy, or assertive. I do everything I can to make girls that I meet understand that there's no need to be uncomfortable around me because I would never take advantage of them. I'm at a loss, I don't think I'm too ugly. I have a good job, a little place of my own (on the beach), and I try to live a good life. I am always the one girls go to when they get hurt by some pig of a guy. I know I can't bring myself to treat girls badly, but what can I do to become attractive? What are girls really looking for? ...not me?
