What's with my best friend!? How can I talk ANY sense into this guy!?

My girlfriend came from Africa. His girlfriend went over there, and struck up a friendship with my girlfriend. She decided to stay, to help with the sickly animals over there! And my girlfriend came over here. She grew up in a tribe there, and has been separated from her family since childhood--she found them here! My best friend is blaming her, because to him, it was her (my girlfriend) fault she's in Africa! I mean, I don't get it! I don't see how it's her fault! It was her choice to stay there. And it was my girlfriend's choice to come here! It's like, post hoc ergo propter hoc! Can't he see it's two unconnected events!? What do I do!? How do I talk ANY sense into him!?
He HATES my girlfriend because of it, that's why I CARE about his situation!
