Being thrown into the friend zone.?

When you first meet a woman how do you stay out of being thrown into the friend zone category? I have a feeling that women throw men in there a lot quicker then men throw women into that category. I know for myself I usually develop feelings for a women after knowing them several months or longer, but by then it seems as though they already labeled me as a friend only, what should us men do to stay out of the friend zone? Don't tell me to let them know my intentions or feeling for them in the beginning because when I first meet these women I don't have feelings for them.
