Is my friend not being his normal self around me cause of my "hickies"?

I have this friend who is a guy. I've only known him for about 8 months, but I consider him a friend.
we kid around, have conversations about stuff and we also have some classes together at the college that we go to.
See I have a bf and I'm pretty sure he knew of this awhile after we got to know eachother.
The thing is that my bf recently gave me what you call hickies on my neck. Now it seems to me that my friend isn't being his normal friendly self around me.
can you explain to me what might be going on??
