Not everything is on the internet. Who is going to go into every courthouse and library and transcribe every record of every individual ever known to man and put it on the internet.........and do it all for free so you don't have to pay for it?

First, unless you have some great aunt or something that has already done the heavy research and put it on the internet, you will not find your family tree on the internet. Total strangers do not go around doing family trees of total strangers.......for no reason......for free.......so that person can one day find their family tree on line in 5 clicks or less.

If you do not have such an individual in your family who has already done a lot of research, then you are going to have to do it yourself, and that is not free or easy. You will spend countless hours digging through libraries, church records, court records, land records, will and probate records, census records, sending off to various states vital statistics offices for copies of birth, marriage, and death certificates (which is ALWAYS at a fee), traipsing through old cemeteries in long forgotten places, etc., etc.

It will be fun. rewarding and challenging, but it will not be free.

try ancestry.com and go to public trees- type in your last name and see what comes up.
It is slow building a tree if you cannot afford to pay. Your own public library might have the subscriptions that you can use. Also if you know the city or town- always try the city hall and ask there.Good luck.

in genealogy sometimes it cost money to learn everything about ur family tree. Since you keep running into stop signs ask someone in your family who has been living a long time to tell u about your ancestors past.
