Why does my finance dislike all the baby names i choose?

I like unique and uncommon names. I am 11 weeks pregnant and have been keeping a list of names. But every name I suggest to my fiance, he shoots down. I ask him what names he likes but he says hes not sure. He says I pick weird names
We still have plenty of time to pick a name of course but its fun to discuss it. How do I get him to participate and compromise with me?

What are you trying to name your baby? Can you give some examples? Because who's in the wrong here really depends on how far you're going with "unique and uncommon."

My best suggestion is to leave him alone for another 3-4 months. Let him get used to the daddy thing, and the married thing --then start making a list of names you love and give them to him a few at a time. When he shoots one down, ask him for a replacement. Go to 26000 baby names for help.
When it get closer to the time, he will get with the program unless you have driven him insane first.
Guys don't get into this the way girls do. It is fine for us, it is like sitting through ballet recitals for him.(and if you have a daughter, he will have to do THAT too).

My mate is like this as well. I tend to pick more tradiotional names, something that can stand the test of time, and whatever profession they choose, etc., but he doesn't think of names, he just gives his opinion on them. For some guys they either like what they hear or they don't, not really needing to come up with a name for their child. Mine has left the fidning of names up to me, and the choosing up to us both. Don't sweat it because in the end, the name, whatever it is will be something you came up with, so you're guaranteed to like it!

Your finance??? Wow, money DOES talk. Why don't you wait on choosing a name.

Often, a baby fits a name, and you really can't just determine it in advance. Draw up a list of traditional names, with some that you like, some that he likes, and wait.

Slappy II. you're creepy.Have you posted a question about baby names? You should post your names in a question and let people come up with some suggestions for you. Then, you can run them by your fiance' and agree on a name!

I have a suggestion. When you give your finance a name that he doesn't like, ask why. If he just shurgs and says "I dunno" then you can just tell him if he doesn't know why he doesn't like it, then he really can't dislike it at all. And because he "likes" it ask if that is the final name.
