any psychologists out there? trying to decide on career path.?

i have a BA in psychology from a major university. i'm seeking direction in pursuing a doctoral degree. in looking at forensic psychology (which isn't under the "apa" umbrella) and clinical pscychology--i don't know whether i would be better at counseling or working with the legal system. i would also be interested in taking the path that has the most income potential. any ideas....also Psy.d vs. Ph.d--i think i would prefer the first over the latter, but any feedbac is appreciated.

It would be foolish to risk pursuing a degree (or program type) which is non APA accredited. It is highly likely that you would have a great deal of trouble negotiating the licensure process down the road (if it was even possible at all). It's not worth it.

I just defended my dissertation this past Tuesday. My Ph.D. is in Counseling Psychology. Were I to do it again, I would go the Psy.D. route in a heartbeat. Unless your passion is research or you desire a career in academia, the Psy.D. is probably your best bet.
