Deciding to pursue writing career?

I have always wanted to be a screenwriter and dircect my own movie but I have always been afriad to pursue it because I know its extremly hard to break into the industry. I have changed my major numerous times trying to find something that interest me but everytime I end up not liking the classes. Right now im in school majoring in accounting. I was thinking of doing financial investigations but my accounting classes suck. Its not that hard but I don't think its for me. I am contemplating double majoring in film/media studies and english. What should I do?

go into a field of study thats related to the industry you're planning to get into - try journalism, creative writing, mass communication. also, wanting to be a screenwriter is a stretch if you don't have any experience - like directing a school play, studying photography, or getting to know about stage production. you have big dreams and the road isn't paved with good opportunities unfortunately. get all the experience you can, learn something new everyday, and who knows? maybe you'll be the next big thing.
