| What $ amount to ask for in settling a case of employment discrimination?
how can you figure out what amount to ask for to settle an employment discrimination suit? The employer (corporate office) has verified the instances I complained of (over a period of years) and admits their local HR dropped the ball by not handling it and that I did face unacceptable harassment. I am looking for damages to cover emotional and mental anquish, humiliation, damage to my spouse and kids as a result of my distress. I actually quit eventually. They already seem to be taking corrective action and instituting better procedures to prevent what I went through from happening in the future. I did suffer a lot and feel me and my family should be compensated. I just don't know how to put a dollar amount on that. I need to know HOW to come up with a figure that is not too low or too high
Mlaw, you are wrong. I got what I am entitled to straight out of a guide to Employment law and I am entitled to payment for mental anquish, inconvenience and even punitive damages. I just want to know how to come up with a dollar figure (for any situation where i would be asking for those things).
