Looked in books...cant find these answers for chinese geography???

1) Why did Chinese Civilization develop with little foreign influence?

2) Why was the area between the Huang He and Yangzi the heartland of early China?

3) What was the purpose of the great wall? Did it serve its purpose?

4) What relationship was there between the Silk road and the Han Empire?
