Any geography buffs here?

I think I've made a monumental error...and need some help...

My niece is writing an essay for grade 12 finals. In reading it, I pointed out that she had no hypothesis...basically, the whole thing was just contrasting two events. Not good - and wouldn't get a good grade.

Soooo I've convinced her that she has to pick a new topic within the broad category of geography...but I'm no expert.

Can anyone think of a good topic - with hypothesis - for an essay in geograpy? I know its a broad question, but I'm not looking for any meat for the essay...just a topic with a hypothesis. In general, using southern locales would be best, as she is in the tropics....

Thanks all, for any assistance!

First of all..... you clutz.......
Secondly never mind all is not lost...... friend of mine lives in the Caymen islands.....
Her field, is the study of plastic that is broken down into micro particles, and are ingested by small marine organisms ie coral etc which poison them destroying the eco-system
......
So as to the question......
How far are the eco-systems of the coral islands being destroyed by plastic micro particles? What could be a solution ?

How about something about the air and water currents in the Atlantic and how they affected colonization, slave trade or flow of goods during some period of history.
