What are some differences in education in Peru and education in the United States?

I know the obvious differences like how in Peru you have to pay for everything; books, uniforms, etc from grade one and here we have the choice of public schooling.

But what are other differences? Are there any reasons--if any--to why it would be better to have an education in Peru? Stricter? The fact that you have to pay for it makes you want it or appreciate more?

Just thow some ideas and opinions please. :]
