Should I Major in Education?

I like the idea of becoming an english teacher but from what I've read the pay is not really that great. Usually around 30k for starting teachers in the state of FL. That's nearly what I get paid now with only a HS diploma.. Math and Science supposedly pay more but I'm not really into numbers.. I considered Marketing as well but competition will be high in that area.. I would like a job that doesn't have much to do with numbers and I can make at least 50k a year and even though I like teaching.. its no where in the 50k range!! Any advice?
