| Australian education: are the fees equal? On bachelor level, I know Australian students pay the so-called "contribution amount", but I also heard that Aussie repay fees to the government after they commence working, question: Is it that the tuition fees are same between Australian and International students, it is just that Australian students can pay a little amount first and have a "loan" for the rest amount of the fees? Answer? Thank you very much. |

| If I am understanding your question correctly, then you are right. The university fees should be the same for everybody doing the course (although course fees will differ between different courses and different universities). Australian students are eligible for a 'higher education contribution scheme' which is like a loan from the government. Once the student has become employed and is making over a certain amount of money, they are made to pay this amount back. I hope this makes sense... |
