furthered my education.? I have now become licensed in my profession and she no longer talking to me. What do you all think? I have not changed one bit..only my credentials. This friend does not work and tells me that I have no right to encourage her to do so.

Yep its jealousy.

You've gone and done something with your life, and all she can do is sit a home and feel sorry for herself.

If you are pushing her, or encouraging her to work, then she may not have much confidence in herself and thinks she's incapable of doing anything, or thinks that you look down on her because she has no desire to do anything.

If you still want her friendship, then maybe lay off the job talk.
