No, at least where I was that is.

You have to take a different class for electives. You take a certain amount of classes in a certain area, and it doesn't change anything if the credits are over what you need.

Congrats on getting your AA, BTW! I remember when I got mine. I'm almost finished with my BA. Then comes the MA.
