What are the challenges/opportunities that face Catholic Education in the modern world?

How can Catholic schools be a vital part of the Australian Catholic Church?

Personally, i believe that, particularly in australia, Catholic schools have come under fire from orthodoxy and many in the church are more concerned with weeding non-catholics out of their schools and communities and promoting homophobia and other uncharitable ideas then spreading the message with humility, love, tolerance and Good deeds. I would like to see a greater role of both the Australian catholic church and catholic schools in community work and charities, like they did in the 60's. It's already all been done before, just go and find a nice 70 year old priest to tell you about it. They are the ones you should be asking this question too.

The Catholic schools and Universities here are doing very well. They are the torch-bearer for Existentialism in the 21st century.

Personally I think it would suck to be a catholic. But have fun!
