Why do most/some education systems consider it wrong for students to have

relationships with their teachers? Relationships include friendships.

unless the student had already passed the subject with that teacher, there is nothing wrong with the relationship. but if the student is still taking the subject, definitely, favoritism cannot be avoided in that situation.

Because teachers are an authoritative figure and it is inappropriate for someone in a higher power to have that sort of relationship. The teacher has too much influential power and this alters the ability of rational thinking of the student.
