| I want to move out of England at 16?
Firstly, may I start by stating that I hate this country and how expensive it is for young people to enjoy themselves or do anything teenagers in other countries such as the US or Europe do. UK youth were rated the lowest in terms of happiness of all the OECD countries, and the price of living compared to quality of life where I live (London) is the 2nd worst in the world. I'm 16 soon and expected to finish all my GCSEs with either As or A*s; would it be possible to emigrate to another country by myself, and possibly get higher education there and live there, independently, at 16? Maybe somewhere like Canada or a European country? All answers appreciated.

I suspect ypou are actually running away from the one person you will not escape from---- YourselfGoing to another country alone at your age is not a good idea unless you are going to members of your family, were you will not be open to exploitation . So get you A levels get a "proper" degree your (forget the more silly ones) so that you have something to offer your new country. All you have at the moment is angst

I just finished my degree and I wished that I did take it abroad. You can and should try to take it abroad, but you need to know that in the US you can not take a drink untill you are 21, here it is only 18!So thats one thing that is negative! You can make a list, i sugest of the things that ou do not like, and come here and ask people from evry city you intend to go (i would love to go to Chikago) and find out how do they meet your requirements. If you indeed procede to move out independently, you will see that you will become much stronger, but you will encounter a lot of pain in the process. In the long run, if you manage to see it though you will defenitely be a much beter developed person then anoither you that stayed at home. But hey, we can also make London all right! One step at a time, and think at a time!I am ready to lveave the UK, but whenever I can make the difference, i do whatever I can.

It's gonna be reallly hard to get into an independent higher education system at 16 - most kids here (in the US) only graduate at 18, and that's the standard age for getting into college - most 16 year olds are only in 10th or 11th grade! My advice is that you should see what learning opportunities you can pursue in England until you're 18 or whatever; and then apply for a university in the United States. (Or Canada!)
