Is it right for clothing companies to hire looks, over education?

dumb, but good looking person,

If they're hiring store associates, all they need are basic skills to operate a cash register and greet/assist customers. It's not got much to do with an education, and most people with a full education should hopefully seek greater things than being a sales associate. It can be a good job for part time or between jobs, but if you've got your full education, there are better things out there for you. So no, it may not be "right", but they have the right to hire who they choose, and the better education doesn't pull much weight because pretty much anybody can be trained on the register and in helping customers, so if the store is hiring people with a certain "look" then so be it. The only time I'd consider it discrimination would be in cases where the stores decide that the look they want is based on race/color and not style.
