Question for hard core liberals about education..?

For once a serious question here...If you believe that we should all be equals, non competitive sports, universal healthcare etc etc....How do you feel about schools giving grades? Do you think that there should be no more grading scales so that the dumb kid gets into the same college as the one who studied his whole life? Should they all just get a passing smiley face or what do you think about that?
Well I did have major surgery with no healthcare.. I has a surfing accident which led to spinal fusion..$94,000 was my total medical costs. I negotiated with the hospital and Drs down to 48,500 and we make monthly payments to cover it. Universal healthcare is not what its cracked up to be. My best friends are from Toronto and had to bring the grandmother to the U.S. surgery done or she may have died waiting for the approval. Anyway, Im just curious about this whole we are all equal theory.
