Director of Continuing Education Marketing is the title of a job i applied for and

got an interview.? I actually have no idea what the salary could be. I did look online like salary.com but they are very broad. This position is for a Director of Marketing for Continuing Ed in a prestigious cooking school in Upstate NY. (Poughkeepsie NY). I am 29 years old and have an MBA. I have education exp. I owned a import/export business for home decor when I lived in Guadalajara, Mexico for 3 years while wife attended med school. Once home I sold the business then joined the work force and became a commodities trader in the lumber industry making $65,000. This is not my dream so I have been keeping an eye out. My passion is education AND business and this new opening I applied for would be a dream. I did get a call but its just the first step of interviews. Though I am quite surprised that they called at all. Here is the posting for the job...please tell me what it could pay considering my exp.
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's or MBA degree, three+ years of marketing and management experience, and expertise in direct marketing, Web marketing, collateral development, advertising and customer service

I'm sure you'll get that info in the interview, along with benefits and such. But if you don't know what you should ask for, how are you going to negotiate your salary? Do a little more digging and see what you find. I'd say you'll be closer to the bottom since you don't appear to have experience as an educator. The marketing field is covered though and that may be what they really want, ie. someone to sell their services.
