Introspective is when you look inside of yourself.
Morose is gloomy or unhappy.

I think if you break it up it means introspective- how you feel about yourself when you think about what and who you are
Morose- melancholy, sad
My guess is novels about young women who feel sad about themselves and the lives they have found themselves in from a 'self' perspective.
