| Why do americans have two more years of compulsory education compared to us Brits? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_education#School_grades Do they learn more than we do in this time or do they learn the same amount but in two extra years?      |

| I don't know about other states but in NY you can officially leave school at 16, but unless you're 2 years ahead you don't have you're diploma. Getting a decent job would be difficult. You can always take the GED (general equivalency diploma) exam if you'd like, you can still go to college and at that point it won't really matter if you do well. |
