Mom won't let me have a Myspace?

This is just a shout out to your mom, you may show her this so i can help you out a little!! Because i dont want to tell you how to convince her just let me do it. Haha!I am a mom of 4. I know what your going through..my mom went through/is still going through the same thing with my sisters/brothers..But here is how it works. Myspace is NOT dangerous as long as you only have your close friends as your friends, and keep your page private, put in a fake place where you live and its even safe enough to put a picture of yourself on there. if you dont display it in the default and only your close friends can see it there is no harm. Myspace is a safe, child friendly place as long as you use it right. Which means. No going to chatrooms. No joining public groupsNo posting videos on myspace TV inless they are privated to only your friends can see them.Make your myspace privatedont default pics of yourself, but you can put pictures in your album where your friends can see them, and have a icon in default. OR you could just make your pictures private. and default one. Either way its super safe! and most def for a 15 year old!! =D you have nothing to worry about. Good Luck!

Mom won't let me have a Myspace?

Do you know that MySpace has always been in the media because a few crimes have started over MySpace?I'm sure your mom isn't some fanatically-religious prude. I'm sure she's a perfectly rational, sane individual who says things for a reason, as most parents do. Whether you'd like to admit it or not the Internet is a very dangerous place and you should always watch your back. Again, MySpace has had bad rep recently because that is where molestations among others took root. You can try Facebook. Just tell your mom it's more secure than MySpace, which it is. It's also a lot cleaner, and it would be perfect if not for the infinite amount of applications circulating around. And hey, if it makes you feel any better, you're not the only one in this world without a MySpace account. Neither are you the only one who's got overly protective parents. I myself am 18 years old and have been through all that. I wasn't allowed to watch TV until I was around 4. I wasn't allowed to drink Coke until I was 7. We didn't have cable until I was 10, not because we didn't have the money but because my parents thought it was a waste of time. I wasn't allowed to use the Internet as regularly as I do now until I was 14 and I got my first computer. And to top it all off, I had been asking for a PlayStation ever since 2nd grade and I only got it when I was 16. And it wasn't even from my parents, either. It was from my aunt and uncle who live in the States and I only had it because it was a birthday gift.Good luck with the MySpace thing!
