I am guessing cause he is running for office and they decided that from hearing what he has to say and from his record that he is the one that most likely will best represent them? just a wild guess..I am wondering though about all those people who are democrats and despise bush policies and think bush is the worst president ever who said that they would rather vote for mccain than vote for the black man obama. Most believe that it is solely because he is a black Democrat who has a real chance. I partially agree with that, but I think if Colin Powell were to run as a Republican he probably would get it, too.But there is a strong possibility also that, since Obama grew up in a very tough way, that his experience leads him to deal with problems that many black people have to deal with (especially in "urban" situations). His plans for helping people may speak more to them; while different problems in more white-oriented communities may not feel the same way about Obama's solutions.In which case, it would not be based on race all that much. It would be based on experiences of the races; still race-related but they would be voting on the issues. It would just be voting on how they see the issues because of the respective experiences.It may literally not be because Obama is black...whether people vote for him or against him.

That speaks volumes to me as to how much we are truly accepted, rather than tolerated. That's a good question, if the shoe was on the other foot, then I think whites would want to finally see a white president.

Well I'm not voting cause of the color of his skin. I'm voting for him cause I'm a Democrat. If he was in the republican party I wouldn't give him a vote to save my life plain and simple 90% of blacks must be a democrats that might be the reason instead of the race.
