Alpha Tarheel has a spectacular aura about
Is Allen Iverson pound-for-pouns the best player in NBA history?

Yeah as you might know, I'm biased. AI's my boy. We grew up in the same hood and I played against him in a high School game. (He was a Junior I was a Freshman. I played 5 minute and guarded him. and in those 5 minutes he scored 12 points on 5-6 shooting, and I scored 0 points on 0-3. He blocked me twice. True Story.)

But onto why I think that:

At all of 160 pounds soaking wet, AI has managed to average the 3rd most PPG in NBA History, he averaged 30 PPG in 4 seasons, has a career average of 6 APG and has recorded 7 APG in 7 straight seasons. He's averaged 2.3 SPG and lead the league in steals 3 straight times. He's lead the league in points 4 times. He always steps up in the playoffs (averages of 30, 6, and 2 in the playoffs.) but has the misfortune of playing on bad teams. Won a Rookie of the Year, has 2 All-Star game MVP's, 1 MVP, 14th in NBA history in steals, 5th in Steals Per Game, 40th in APG, 34th in PER in NBA History, 2nd in Usg. % in NBA History, (VERY good), 9 all-stars,20th in NBA history in points, could reach 5th or higher by the end of his career.

I would say the main reason AI has never been recognized to be as talented as he is because of the misconception of how much championships improve your legacy. Sure they help, but Slater Martin, Steve Kerr, and Don Nelson (Yes he played in the NBA) all have 5. While guys like AI, Malone, and Stockton have 0. Hakeem never would’ve won one had MJ never retired. What does that tell you?

Also, I think he doesn’t get hyped as much as some notable players (Kobe, MJ, Magic etc.) by the NBA, so the people who can’t think for themselves don’t realize how great he is. Watch how the NBA helps LA get to the Finals in 02. Why? To improve ratings and make Kobe look better. See how the NBA gives Kobe an undeserving MVP and undeserving 1st team defensive awards. Does AI ever get anything he dosen’t deserve? No. Why you ask? AI is thought to be a thug, with tats all over his body, and his hair in corn rows. The Anti-Jordan if you will, who everyone regardless of there color liked because something about him just made people forget of race. You see, as horrible as it is, the NBA never hyped AI because the aforementioned make him lowly marketable and he has always played on small media markets.

So recapping, he is he averages the 3rd most PPG in NBA history at 160 pounds if that, has all those awards, and doesn’t have any rings; is he the best player pound-for-pound in NBA history?
MC:

2 Questions:

1. when did anyone say AI Was better than MJ?

2. Why would you say I made up the AI HS thing? You don't know me. And Stop calling me a damn kid. I'm 29 fukken years old.
MC:

I stay on here alot, just to talk about basketball, much as yourself. So don't say $hit like that.

I talk like a 9 year old? Really? How so?
