browsing history deletes on it's own.?

Is this possible? At first I was blaming it on my boyfriend, I thought he had something to hide. I have it set to where it won't delete for like 21 days. But it deletes almost everyother day. I was on the computer today...one minute the history was there...an hour later it was gone...and it wasn't my boyfriend because he was at work today...what could it be?
it is definitely set for 21 days...I always check it.
