Looking for a good book on US history!!!!???

i need a NONFICTION book that involves US history...i'm trying to focus on the Roaring 20s/30s or the Great Depression... I have read the Great Gatsby, and now I am looking for a true life story from the same time! Any suggestions??? (the reading level should be like young adult)
