Grammar check pleaseeeee =) with a cherry on top?

On the day of May29,08 I stepped inside the NG meeting. From then I understood the purpose of being absent and how important it is to be in school to get an adequate education. As I listened to the various stories each teacher said it sank to me how I was not being very responsible and the lack of knowledge I had based on the attendance policy. I know next year I will be more mature about my education and I learned that the only reasons I can have an excused absence is if I am ill, there is a death in the family, a doctor’s or dentist’s appointment, an approved religious holiday or a Court appointment. I know that when I arrive back to school I have to bring a note 0-3 days after the absence between 6:45 AM and 7:15 AM. I grasp the concept that missing school means getting behind and causing me to have a lower GPA. Furthermore, I apprehended that if I do not assist school it will affect my future because I will not get into a good college, I might end up working in a minimum wage job and regret not going to school where I could have received a free education while I was young and could have been able to have the time and liberty to study. Last but certainly not least, after ten cumulative absences if I do not bring admits I will get an NG and this will change my outstanding GPA drastically!
