Please understand - building work cannot stop just because it's holiday season. Also by law there noise can only be from 7.30am (probably later if it's a tourist area) till 3pm. Which hotel is it and where - maybe you can phone them and ask what stage they are at. I can't go to UK (for example ) and complain about someone building next to me - life goes on ... even when you need 2 weeks holiday!

Indeed it is true that building work has to take place also when the weather allows it, and therefore it is inevitable that building work will take place as wellHowever there are regulations to protect you if they did not inform you of this building work taking place as they should have done this. As per the Watchdog site "Did you buy this as a package holiday? (travel and accommodation at an all-inclusive price), If so the Package Travel, Package Holidays & Package Tours Regulations 1992 will apply. These allow a consumer to cancel or to accept an alternative package at no extra cost, if the organiser has to alter significantly an essential term of the contract" http://www.bbc.co.uk/consumer/your_rights/holiday.shtmlDo some reading, both of the fine print of the terms & conditions of the deal you paid for plus the rules & regs of what I mentionedIf you think you have a case then issue a polite (no emotions - just facts) letter in writing to them, and request a cancellation or alternative package. If the request is declined and they are a member of ABTA, then follow this up with a escalation letter to themYou can also call/Email the following for more advice http://www.holidaytravelwatch.net/
