| I love my girlfriend and i know she is the one for me...but she wants to play basketball in another crountry?
My girlfriend and I have a very long distance relationship, she lives in Canada and I live in Texas. We talk everyday, tho its not much because she is constantly training for basketball...she wants to play in Europe league after college for about 4yrs, so all in all thats 8yrs of us not being able to be the couple we want to be...she loves me and she too wants to settle down with me one day...we are both still in school so the next 3 or 4yrs we will be doing this long distance...i know we can handle the next 4yrs with visits over the summer and holidays, so thats not really a concern with me...but to think that even after college i will still be without the love of my life, is hard to handle...i cant ask her to not play, and i WANT her to follow her dreams...but my dream is to have a family and a wife(her)...i feel she is worth the sacrifice but is their anything i can do to make this a lil better...we both dream of our marriage, but she just has another dream other then our family

wow this sounds like a harsh one, i would continue to encourage her to continue her basketball dream to stregnthen your relation ship. if you two love each other that much then you will eventually mary her and settle down. just be patient.

Is there any way that you could be with her in Europe? It sounds as though she has a good thing going with the basketball (and it's not something she can just "put off until later" because the career is very short in sports) so perhaps if you can go with her you can be together.

Why don't you go to the other country to be with her? If she is the love of your life you can wait for her. It's also not fair for you to try and rush her into the wife/mother role. She's still young and has plenty of time to do that. In the mean time you could get yourself together after school and get prepared for her to return.
