How can I get my aunt and my grandma to stop giving me clothes for my

birthday and Christmas? They do it every year. My aunt gives my mom the receipt just incase the clothes don't fit. We ALWAYS return them. The clothes they pick out are honestly really ugly. How can I get them to buy me something else that I would actually like? Thanks.

Make a Christmas / birthday list. Write down specifics, the make, model #, color, size, brand name, the store where it can be purchased, and the cost.

or

Ask for gift certificate or gift card.

Either of these makes their gift buying easier and more fun, because they know you will love their gift.

Tell them you are saving for a ____________and that you would really like to get money instead of clothes. People like to know they are contributing to big gifts like cameras, trips, ipods etc...Once you break the pattern you can keep asking for money. Other than that, ya, ask for gift cards instead. You also might want to ask your mom to politely drop the hint to them.
